MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas!
What did you get?!
Actually, how did you celebrate Jesus' birthday?
I can't believe Christmas is 364 days away again! I really hoped for a white Christmas but there's still January and February.
For Christmas and Christmas Eve we went to Charleston. It's a historic place and when we first saw it, it just seemed old and dirty. But when we went downtown, they had so many goos stores like FOREVER21 and boutiques with TOMS!!! Oh my word, Forever21 was so big! My eyes had so many things to look at! I wanted everything... Some of the stuff i wanted weren't in my size tho:( and so I just got one sweater for $23 (kinda expensive) and three different colored rose earrings for $3 (so cheap!). I thought they would have more jewelry and I was going to buy $20 worth of it but there was only one section. My dad promised me Toms for Christmas and I tried so many on. They had the styles I like but not my size:( (I found out that I can wear 3s in youth and 5s in women; for some reason my youth 5 is bigger than an adult 5 but youths are cheaper. I think if you ever want to buy youths and you wear adults, buy 2 sizes smaller cus my mom wears 7s and she can fit into my youth 5) I didn't get any Toms anymore but it's okay. I got so many gifts already! I might still get them for my birthday or the summer but first I need to wear out my big ol' ones.
One historic place we visited was a Yorktown aircraft carrier. It was so cool to be able to go to all the different sections in the battleship. They didn't even have "No Touching" signs so you could basically do anything.
We stayed at Hampton Inn and it was really nice. So far I think it's one of the best hotels we've stayed at and we've stayed at a lot (it was pricey since it was right beside downtown and it's in a historic area). The dining room and lobby were really nice and Christmasy. Our room had a really nice restroom and the beds were so fluffy.

This "statue" was actually a musician:)

Overall this Christmas vacation was fun!

Christmas Break is Here!!!

Last time I posted it was Thanksgiving break; well, now it's Christmas break! I took my first ever cumulative exams this past week and praise the Lord for all His help! I stayed up so late on those nights studying:p Now I'm still up late haha... blogging and pinning instead. Today, to cast all my exam anxiety aside, my mom took me shopping! We bought bath&body works candles for $8 each, got my mom a present, she got me a present;) Yesterday, since today's exams were easy classes, I got to repaint my nails (I'll have to redo my Tiffany nails for you later)! I was kinda iffy about the black but I've seen so many girls wearing them and it feels very wintery. I added white polka dots to lighten it up- next time I'll be brave and try a solid black. (btw so srry about any hangnails or other nail grossness! I'm not a pro) I change my toenails too- tiffany blue with white lace detail:) I'm not posting a pic of them because it's hard to take "cute" pictures of toes haha.
Chick-fil-a's peppermint chocolate chip milkshake is back!!
found this GIGANTIC SNICKERS bar at walmart!

~~~~~~
On a serious note, I am continually praying for the Sandy Hook Elementary victims in Connecticut. It was really sad to hear about all those children and teachers. It's hard to take in but it was God's will. Just keep trusting in God!
Thanksgiving break:))
Life is at ease... :))
I thought I would be spoiling my break with studies but I'm actually vegging out haha. Yesterday, I basically did nothing. Today for Thanksgiving we had a lovely meal by my mom:) I watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. I did some homework and will hopefully finish my Bible project tonight. Then tomorrow, dun dun dun, is BRIGHT FRIDAY (black friday)! I'm prolly not gna be doing any hw other than reading Sherlock Holmes for my English proj. But that's not really hw; it's good so far! Then comes Saturday, the loneliest day of my break--- science exam study time. Bleh:p I know it's good for me though because if I wait till after our break, I know I'll be busy and won't really have time. Now, I can't wait for Christmas break!!! (That will def. be a break since no exams to study for!)
I'm thankful for:
-for my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, for dying on the cross for my sins and rising up again. In my life I have done so many sins and I am thoroughly ashamed but God is so merciful and forgiving.
-my wonderful family; even, though I'm an only child and it can be boring, it's still prtty awesome! I can get spoiled more! (Jk)
-my parents are the best; I thank them for all their love and care
-my school; some kids complain about the rules and standards but we are so lucky to be able to go to this school, where no one really gets bullied, wonderful teachers, great education, and the ability to be able to worship God freely
-my church; even though I'm the only teen around my age, it's great to be a blessing to even a small group of ppl, and I'm even able to help in the nursery
-my friends of course; those who make smile, laugh, think, and grow in the Lord
-our house; even though it's small it's perfect. My room is big and sunny, and it's right beside the school so less gas needed
-nail polish; thank you polish inventors for making my nails so happy and colorful!
-clothes: Old Navy, BR, Gap, Macy's and all the other stores I love
-for autumn; one of the prettiest seasons!
-for food and Thanksgiving meals
-other things that I can't remember right now
Hurry up Thanksgiving Break....
Ahh, another break is coming! I cannot wait... I just want to relax right now (oh wait, I still have to study for my upcoming exams too...:P). And I cannot wait for Thanksgiving AND Black Friday!!! I don't like huge crowds and messy displays but it's actually worth it. We're going to an outlet mall on that day and I can't wait to visit Gap and Banana Republic. BR has one of the greatest sales and quality; I already posted that I got a skirt for $15 from $50 and a really nice mint polo for $30 from $60. Hopefully, they'll have a really great sale on Black Friday with my size! When we went to the sale last year, the store were just so messy and "mobbed out." My mom also got a Coach purse for 30% off! Hmm, maybe my mom can buy me a purple one as an early Christmas prez;) I actually I just really want clothes from Old Navy and more nail polish!!! (Right now I am desperate for a Tiffany blue sort of polish---->)
Oops, gtg back to school work...
That was a nice fantasy break!
GREEN TEAM & MY CLASS CONQUERED!!!
The UpRoar was so much fun yesterday!
Since my class is the newbie class, nobody thought we would win Quadropoly (Monopoly but our school's version). I didn't even think we would win! To earn properties in the game, each person had a mini quadropoly board this week and we had to buy a pack of 10 game pieces for $1 each. I used up $4 overall and almost got my whole board done- I had 4 spots left. The last 30 minutes we had before the game officially ended, our whole class crowded into the history room to trade game pieces. Some of the people in my class spent over $20!!! That's a lot of money... but I guess it's okay since it was a fundraiser for our school AND it helped us win the big quadropoly game. I got to pick our game piece in the giant quadropoly game and I chose the elephant:) I was going to choose the thimble lol but they didn't have any. We had to play really fun challenges like the six-legged race, sack race, crabwalk soccer, and oh, I had to compete in the human wheelbarrow race xP; I had to hold a guy's legs while he crawled to the finish line. Let's just say, my arms are sore when I woke up this morning. After my class's victory in that, we had to divide up into our team colors. I WAS GREEN:))
The class officers (i.e. me and the others) got to sort out all of the freshman students into teams. They were all pretty even but of course some people just had to go and complain that red or blue was stacked. But ha, Green proved them wrong;) Our first game was big ball volleyball. It was so fun even though I barely touched the ball at all cus I am tiny. At the end when everybody in the team was out on the court, they brought out a fourth big ball, except it wasn't really a ball... it was more like a grotesque baked potato with the earth drawn all over it... It was so funny to watch my team try to hit it over the net lol. It was just so lumpy and fat bahaha. I'm so glad that the tallest guy in school was on my team! He hit the balls like a boss. We tied with yellow in that first game. Next, we went outside and played snag the flag. I was hoping for boundaries in that game but no, it was like the Hunger Games. I just had to shake my friend, Karen, and yell out, "Oh my goodness!!! It's like the Hunger Games!! We're all gonna die!" lol!! The first round I wasn't active and the yellow team got first but then I started running after people and I got a lot of flags. In the last round, when I took a snagged flag to the flag bearers, I saw one of my teammates trying to get another girl's flag and the girl didn't see me behind her and I grabbed her flag and my teammate grabbed the other. It was awesome ganging up haha. In the end when they were announcing the winners, the suspense almost killed me. When they announced yellow third/second for the snag the flag game, I was so happy cus then I knew even if red was second in that game, we would still win! And we did:) All of the teams got best dressed; red won most spirited- and they were. But it just came down to the points and my epic green team just plainly beasted! GOOD JOB GUYS!
What was the prize you ask? Well... green team got first in the lunch line (yay! actually I had to serve lemonade -which I didn't even get to have my own cup!) and we got our color put on the GOLDEN CLAW, the most coveted trophy of all times! How cool is that???? (yup.. lol)
Even though the prizes weren't as awesome, the feeling of winning just made up for it. And also proving everybody wrong about how "the red team was stacked" and how "it's usually the red or blue team that wins."
Happy Birthday, Dad!
This week was an okay week. I thank the Lord so much for helping me study for all my tests and quizzes so far this sem! I got a better grade in my science test this chapter (better than last time)! Yay!- still want some more improvement but hey, science is NOT my thang. To end a week of studying for the science test, we got to celebrate my dad's birthday today at Lieu's Bistro (one of the yummiest places on earth). God has blessed us so much- my dad another year, my mom almost another, and me too (in four months and a day!).
He got a free cake (well actually it was me and my mom who mainly devoured it);
I got free ice cream on my bday last yr.
FFD Success!!!
Class Officers:))
Once upon a time, Fiction Day was a success:)) Everybody loved the idea from the very beginning. Our party decorations would've been really lame if it weren't for the other group that came after our group; they put fall leaves chandeliers and Christmas lights up! We had a white elephant gift exchange/ "fairy god mother gift exchange" and a lot of people participated in that. I gave away Little Red's basket of goodies (2 boxes of cereal lol, kit kat, and lollipops) and I received a bottle of maple syrup... haha, I like syrup and pancakes^^ It was really funny when one of the guys only got 4 pieces of candy out of a vacuum box. We also played "the three little pigs housing project" where we tried our best to make a creative house out of toothpicks and marshmallows (it was okay, it was better than a spam carving project that was suggested!!). We were also planning another game where each person has a fiction character's name on their back and they try to guess who they are and find their famous partner (ex. Beauty/Belle with Beast), but we ran out of time:( It was a good idea too-- by my friend, Rapunzel (up there in the pic).
We had a best dressed contest and Gandalf up there won:) Of course, anyone who has a staff and magic wins right? Looking forward to more class parties!
The Invention That Will Change the Lives of Shoppers
        Have you ever ordered an item online and realized that it was cheap and ugly when it arrived on your doorstep? I have a black belt in shopping but yes, I have experienced this. My mom ordered me a pair of TOMS shoes in size five for my birthday last year, and I was so excited when she told me. I have really small feet, ranging from sizes four through six, so I was not sure if I would fit perfectly in a size five. When my TOMS arrived in the mail, the color looked different from the picture online, and the shoes were one and a half inches too big! My mom was willing to exchange them, but I read online that it costs ten dollars to exchange shoes. Therefore, I decided to just keep them since they were already pretty expensive, and I did not want my mom to have to pay extra. I am dealing with them now by stuffing socks inside; it is not completely comfortable but it works. From then on, I have not ordered anything from online, but I really want to change that since some stores I like do not exist here.
            My invention called Shopping 101 will change the lives of many shoppers and even get anti-shoppers to get on board and start shopping. Shopping 101 is an application that will let you try on merchandise and taste samples of delicious cuisine right from your office chair. All you have to do is go to a store’s website, click “try on” or “taste sample”, and the clothing or food you desire to try will simply appear in the Shopping 101 Box connected to your computer. The clothing is just a hologram though and will only last five minutes once you take it out of the Box. The food sample is also computer generated and will not fill your stomach, but it will contain the exact taste and smell of the real thing. If this invention sky rockets in the marketing business, and I believe it will, I will sell Shopping 101 to more companies like Home Depot and let customers try tools and gadgets. This will be such a wonderful and useful invention!
Future Dreams
~We're doing a journal project in English class this year. I'll post some of my topics here:)
             In ten years, I will hopefully be out of school!  My parents are praying to go back to the Philippines when I’m in college, but Lord willing I’ll be able to stay in the United States.  It would be awesome to live in Paris, France or somewhere exotic but let’s be realistic.  So far in the six years of living here, I have enjoyed it.  I haven’t found many things to do here so maybe I’ll move to a different state.  Hawaii, perhaps?  It would be so wonderful to live by the ocean.  If only land surrounds me, I want to live in a classy modern home in the heart of downtown where cafes and shops are close by.
            I guess all of this depends on God’s will and my husband!  Hopefully God will send me someone special so I can get married and start a family.  I wasn’t the sparkly pony and dream of your wedding day type of girl when I was little.  I liked getting dirty and being mischievous, but now that I’m older, I am actually dreaming of my wedding day.  I want my wedding ceremony to be outdoors in the spring or summer; the color scheme will be purple and silver, and I want my wedding gown to have lace and floral detail.
            Other than being a mom to two boys and a girl, I am hoping to either be an artist, photographer, or a writer.  My parents tell me I need to find a job that’s on demand, so maybe full time I’ll be an elementary school teacher, a pharmacist, or a nurse like my mom and then be creative part time.  But I keep asking myself, “Do I still want to study after I graduate?” and “Do I really want to have a medical career?”  Whatever comes in my way in the future though, I know it’ll be God’s plan.  I’ll just let Him handle everything since He knows what’s best for me.
Time Flies When You're Having Fun
#Nerd at Wally World
Ha, I wonder if that's true about school!  I can't believe it has already been a month since we started school...  a month of tests, quizzes, and homework=p It has been fun too though. I am enjoying art class- learning how to shade correctly and such. I really like writing journal entries for English class, and I love how my teacher actually writes back. I am so glad that I am part of the class officers this year because if I wasn't I wouldn't really be part of school. I would be part of the torture, just kidding;) but being able to help in the choices is a great privilege. We had our first class luncheon a few weeks ago; it wasn't a complete stink bomb. It was slow at first but I think everyone had fun (I was really worried so I didn't enjoy it as much). Today, we showed the class a sample of our class item and we got positive feedback. Some of the guys though, were so annoying.. -.-' They just complained out loud and that was just rude and discouraging; at least keep it to yourself! I guess I would've done the same if I didn't like it... shows me that I also need to work on that area. Right now, we're just planning for our Spirit Day. I think we have a good theme picked out. We just need to get the deets sorted out, like games and stuff. If you have any Spirit Day theme suggestions, feel free to comment:) I know nobody will, cus no one reads this blog lol- well, everybody I see looking at this page is too shy.
Well, I'm having a great time in high school (till the exams... dun dun dunnnn...)! Just pray that my team will be able to get everything figured out and that everybody will enjoy Spirit Day and all the upcoming activities we've got up our sleeves;)
Labor Day Weekend!
I spent my Labor Day weekend by...
-Going to a soccer game.  They had approximately 7000 people there!  It was the biggest college soccer game ever...  My friend, Karis, came and we had such a good time just hanging out.  I've missed her (she moved)!  The concession stands were pretty good; they had funnel cake which we devoured graciously:), free Jack In the Box water bottles, Chubby Cupcake stand (super cute name lol).  It was so crazy when they were shooting T-shirts and balls towards the crowd!  Me and Karis almost got a T-shirt, but the guy beside us shoved us off the sidewalk.  They even had fireworks at the end!  SCORE: Women's Home-0, Guest-2; Men's Home-4, Guest-8.  Our people didn't win but they did their best.
-Studying and working ahead... ahh, a Physical Science test on Wednesday:p
-Watching the Hunger Games!  <spoiler alert> I was so excited:D  but overall, the book is still better than the movie!  They totally left out/changed some parts like the Avox girl, Madge giving Katniss the mockingjay pin, Haymitch at the reaping, Peeta's dad giving Katniss cookies, Cato being more powerful, more of Gale (he only appeared a few times in the movie!).  Some parts were kind of dull and silent but I guess that was supposed to set the serious sad mood.  I guess I anticipated too much since I had already read the book.  I thought the part where Rue dies was going to be real sad but it wasn't that sad... I don't know, just my opinion.  If you've watched the movie or not, READ THE BOOKS!  I heard they're already making the second movie, Catching Fire.  Will be interesting to see since the Quarter Quell has the ocean!  And the third movie will be interesting too since Peeta goes psycho...  I've said too much:)
Going back to school tomorrow... It doesn't seem like I actually relaxed this weekend.
Happy Labor Day!
2 Weeks of School Complete-- A Million More to Go!
Coral and Mint nail art! <3 junior mints!
Nom nom nom... what do I spy?  Junior mints!!!->
and my new 3rd week of school coral and mint nail art:)  I was gonna do subtle colors but I just couldn't resist this idea!
2nd week of school was pretty exhausting but it was equally fun!  I was able to get ahead last weekend so I wasn't as pressured.  We had our first Physical Science test and I was kind of nervous about that, but I attended the help class and asked Mrs. B. a ton of questions so I was pretty prepared.  She's really nice (she checks our homework before it's due- cool haha)!
We also had a class picnic yesterday which the class officers (Michael, me, Josh, and Kara) prepared.  The games were okay... they got kind of bored in the beginning cus it was so slow... but overall they said it wasn't "that bad".  Hopefully, next time we'll get more ideas... since they were mostly my lame ones (lol). Next week, we're going to decide on what freshman class item we're going to get.  I can't wait!
I'm so grateful that I can be this year's women's class pres. and to be able to work with such awesome people.  Michael is the funniest (and sometimes most annoying haha) guy I know; Kara is nice; Josh is well... nice I guess but he doesn't talk much lol.  Our sponsors are really nice too.  Well, all the teachers here are nice.  I am so blessed to be able to go to this awesome school!
My Senior Buddy made me earrings:)
God Strengthens
This past week was my first week of high school.  Only one word can describe it (okay there's some synonyms but I chose one).  It was OVERWHELMING!
I dunno, maybe I'm just making a big deal over everything, but there is a lot of homework!
I'm trying to get ahead on everything and it's just stressing me out.  My Science teacher says that the tests will be hard and will contain a lot of "must-understand" info...  ahh... usually I just memorize the stuff and forget them the next day!  So far Algebra has been easy, but the teacher is really fast at teaching and I felt kind of rushed during our first quiz.  I didn't even get to check it thoroughly; hopefully, she'll give us more time next time since I take forever, being a visual learner who has to write down everything.
I'm so glad I chose art and keyboarding this year because they're pretty easy and fun.  Thankfully, I'm not taking piano this year so I don't have to practice 5 hrs. a week.  I'm just going to teach myself on my own time.
Also, this week I got a news from the Philippines.  It was such a shocker.  I was already overwhelmed from homework and now this added news just made it heavier.
Through tears, I finally realized that God has a plan for me.  All the homework I get will prepare me for future careers, and the news I got showed me how much we need to cherish every moment.  God tests our faith.  This news I got also turned my attention back to God.  I need to trust in Him and not myself for help in school and going through trials.
Please pray for me to keep trusting in God.
2012-'13 First Day of School
2012-'13 First (and second) Day of HIGH School~
First day went pretty well- didn't get lost! (because in every class I have a handy friend close by:))
We got our ID pics taken and mine looks terrible...:( their machine was having some problems so all of our IDs turned out smudgy and so it looks like I just cried and my eye makeup is all smeary!  I looked at my friend's pic from last year and she looks perfect!  It was clear and the ID square wasn't squished up to her face.  Oh well... I probably won't use mine that much anyway.
1st hr- General Art:  It sounds exciting! The teacher said we're having ceramics next sem. and we're going to be able to go outside and draw.  Sadly, there's only four girls in my class... Today, I dragged one of the other art girls to go with me to do an assignment ahead.  I know I'm a total nerd for doing it ahead but I wanna have it done before chaos begins!  I'm just using my noggin.
2nd hr- Physical Science:  Interesting... she said she's going to call on everyone when she asks questions so I better pay attention!!  I can't wait till we do lab experiments- hope I get a good partner.  Oh yeah, I forgot to write in complete sentences in the "Getting to Know You" sheet... hopefully she'll give grace.
3rd hr- English:  The teacher is pretty nice and she is very adventurous!  There's a ton of people in my class  (and the room is so narrow!) so I hope we don't have to do any speeches and such.  (Have you noticed all hopes I've typed so far?)
Chapel/ LUNCH: Ahh, lunch.  Such a perfect time to relax and roam around with friends... or to do homework!  This year we're able to go practically anywhere and do practically anything- FREEDOM!
4th hr- Algebra:  You know the feeling that you get when you finally understand something?  I got that awesome feeling this afternoon.
5th hr- Bible/ P.E.:  Yesterday, Bible class was short so we'll see how it goes full time tomorrow.  Today, in P.E. class the teacher wasn't even there so it was kind of dull.
6th hr- Keyboarding:  Huh, right now it's really slow.  I hope (ha) that I'll be fast enough... I checked myself tonight and it said I can type 30+ words per min. and I took a video of myself typing (weird) and it turns out, I am actually doing the "correct" type of typing (I'm not using just 2 fingers).
Homework:  Not much right now but you know me, I always obsess with checking my answers, so that takes time and I wanna get ahead.  That one math concept today stumped me though- was so happy when I finally understood it and felt so dumb!  Update: I still missed 2 though:(  I miss the "bell bonus work" from last year!  Those helped a lot!  ~If homework had it's own perfume, it would be called Doom or No Relaxation Allowed and would smell like a dirty sock.
That sums up my first 2 days in high school!
 Back to School toenails;)
(sorry about my ugly toes!)
Three Bouncing Little Boys
Sorry about the heading, lol.  I could have just plainly typed: "Babysitting" but nope, I wanted something interesting.  So, yesterday was my first time to ever babysit!  Yeah, I do nursery at church but that's with one baby.  I babysat three little boys!!!  Their mom was upstairs cleaning but it's still qualified as babysitting since  she didn't help me look after them (other than give instructions) and she paid me (so it's also my first job ever!).  Note to self: Google more games for little boys.  As soon as we started a game, they asked what else we could play lol.  We played treasure hunt, tag (well kind of, they got too excited so we had to stop), hide & seek (favorite), made forts, made paper instruments, and colored.  It was so cute when the youngest one wanted to open a marker but when he couldn't, he looked up to me and said "ma ma" meaning, open this please?  (Adorable!!!)  Good thing I brought some "motivational" bug stickers to give for good behavior!  Whenever the middle one (the naughtiest one lol) got mischievous, I just told him I wouldn't give him anymore ladybug stickers.  When they got bored, I took them out to their backyard.  It rained the day before, so it was kind of muddy:p  I wasn't sure if they were allowed to dig and make "gardens"... and get dirty... but I let them lol.  The youngest one was so cute to watch go down the slide.  I had a crazy fun day.  Now, I know how it's like to have three boys!
It was so funny when we were eating lunch.  The oldest one asked me how old I was and I told him to guess and he guessed 50, 60, 100? lol.  When he finally guessed my age, he was like, "Are you married?"  No, no, NOOO!! hahaha. He told me he was gonna get married when he's my age so that he can make decisions together with his partner... I'm like, no, don't!  Haha such a funny day:D
This Week & The Next
Nothing significant really happened this week... wait no, the Olympics took over the channels!
I really like watching [beach] volleyball, diving, swimming, ping pong, and badminton.  GO USA!!!
GO USA!
Other than that, all I did this week was watch tv and hang out with my friend, Karis (we watched movies, did makeup, painted our nails).  That was a fun day but I wish my whole week was exciting.  My mom made some leche flan and that was a treat:) It was really sweet though... I love sweets but that was just a little too sweet.  I wish she would make me a mango graham cake!
TOMS fingernails!!
Today is my 2nd to the last Saturday of freedom (before school takes over my life again) and I'm not doing anything new... I just played ping pong on the wii against a guy who I couldn't beat:[  (I'm a pro btw)  I just kept restarting the game (cheater lol) for an hour until I finally let him take me down... and then I battled against a lower guy who was also very good!  I wish they would let us move the miis on the wii.  I mean I was all the way to the side of the ping pong table when my opponent slammed the ball in the opposite direction!  I probably could've gotten that in real life (okay, maybe not).  I'm such a nerd lol... I hope next week is bright and sunny so I can go outside and maybe go downtown and shop.  By the way, this weekend is tax free weekend!  Too bad I only have $18 left... oh well.  This upcoming Thursday is the class officer meeting.  I hope I understand everything lol.  Well that's all for now:)  Thanks for reading!
